Got my AW high current 17670 cells in the mail today.


Five Mega 1D M@g85 running the WA1185 bulb with AW's 17670 (new) High Current Cells






NO double click needed... These batteries run the WA1185 on a single click.  (Only batterys that will do this)



1D Mag85

Brighter than the Rop LE (running 2 AW C cells) and the Mag11 (running 2 AW C cells) but not quite as bright as the FiveMega Mag85 (running 3 AW C cells).


Very impressive power for a 1D size light...

1D cutdowns are so handy. did yours need tribore to fit 3x17670?
I used a 1/2in drill to wack away 2 groves to fit 2x18650. plan to build it into M@g61

My Mag1D w/1166 needed to be tri-bored to fit AW's 17670 cells.  Not quite as bright as the 1185, but equal to my Mag2C ROP HI with the same runtime.

Mine was tri-bored but 1185 drains cells very quickly and dims. May be a good host for regulated Mag11 or that Secret Chinese bulb you got!

Is that the same bulb that LuxLuthor did destructive testing on and it pulled 7.90A before blowing?  You'd have to use some big cells, or Emoli cells.  Too big for a 1D...

Please correct me if I'm thinking about the wrong bulb.

You are correct, my mistake... Too much for the 1D... wishfull thinking on my part! The WA11 that I use seems to be a good compromise.  May be good for 6 x 2/3 A though... Lots a Lumens.


I think I'm gonna send LL 2 x 1160 bulbs as those are not on the list; maybe the ROP low too...


Hotwire Guys need some Regulation!

Thanks for offering him the 1160's for testing!  Mighty generous of you.  I don't have any of those, but am interested in learning where the ideal voltage setting is for that bulb using AW's upcoming D-driver.
