I know I will but I sure do not want to.  I am trying to minimize.  Only focus on the stuff I should bring .  I am working hard to bring only 6.  Four for me and two for my friend.

Time will tell.

I have recently only been carrying my LC on vacation/ trips. I know it is a sin to only carry one light but I have found this is the only one I need. It is a bonus that it is easily carried.

I normally take several different lights with me but the following one is the one that benefitted me the most on a vacation to Estes Park, CO last year.

http://woodbender.freeservers.com/photo2.html

My brother-in-law and I started out at 3:00am to ascend Longs Peak and this light blazed the way for hours as we hiked through the trees and eventually above the tree line.

I also made two other lights just like this one for a friend of mine and his dad to use in a hardcore canoeing event(much of it run at night).  He was very pleased with how well it worked.  My version had a batwing star, but their's were equipped with high domes and got better throw.

When I go camping with my boys(and others) I take a whole host of lights.  The most popular one with the kids is an Elektrolumens blaster that I converted to a cyan led.  They love seeing the green light flash through the trees and many of them act like it is a light saber.

If I go somewhere by myself, my Lionheart is the only light I take.
A great picture is worth a thousand words...A great model is worth a thousand pictures.

BigHonu,

I don't really have any specs to speak of.  I built this  mod several years ago with parts I had laying around.  It uses a low dome star of decent quality.  I wanted to use a high dome but didn't have any at the time.  I machined the heatsinks to fit and the 30mm optic had to have the diamter turned down slightly to fit.

I want to make another drop in module using a high dome.  I'll design the whole sandwich differently next time also.  I'll use a single thicker heatsink.  I'll post pics when I get around to this mod.  I'm currently working on some different reflectors that should be back from the metalizer in the next week.  The reflector project has my attention at the moment.

I really did bring six lights.  If you do not count the lights that were brought in duplicate (I brought two HDS, TNC AA, PEU NEOCA).  And we all know they do not count.  So really I did bring six different lights.   ;)
