Any chance of a smaller so17 based lioncub head?
« on: July 20, 2005, 06:54:00 PM »
I like the thick bezel look of the one I have, but, some of the light is lost to the bezel after it exits past the reflector.

I was thinking well;
 how about a shorter head with the same glass, SO17 reflector, same width, almost same thickness bezel end, wider beam and more overall lumens
making it out of the business end.
Plus the whole thing would be 4-5 millimeters shorter. ;)
This could really be cool for the bare and the brass units imho and be a great complement to the big lionheads.

Yeah 3rd, especially with an even shorter CR2 tube to reduce the length of the whole thing - however at this juncture I'm unable to put too much into additional development since a lot of time is used up not only working on this board (I really don't see how Sasha does it), but also on another light project.

But your helpful suggestions are indeed appreciated.

Great idea 3rd shift although I think I like Charlies even better. A smaller, CR2 based light would be very cool.

Now, what is this other project I keep hearing about??? ;)

for CR2 i'd not bother with the LC.. too big of a host.. def. need to start from scratch... it would be interesting to see a 17mm variation on the head though.. it's quite a nice reflector for close up work.

Excellent idea!  DarkGear?  Humor is EXACTLY what we need more of these days.  Besides lights, of course.  :laughing8:

I'm just as happy as I can be with the super-thick LC bezel.  I don't care that I've lost 10% of output or whatever.  The light still TOTALLY rocks.

Hehehe,,  Charlie i would have to worry if you ever gave us any reason to believe that there WASN'T something already in the works of some kind behind the scenes.
