Got the Iphone 3G 16 Gig for $299 with 2y plan about a week ago.

Love it

This thing is much more than a phone, which is what I used to think that's all I wanted! I know, I'm late to the party...

The instant local weather - stock report - GPS & Maps - World Clock (what time is it in China *get back to work!) - instant voicemails & text are great...  Not to mention much easier to type on, syncs up like a TomTom and so on...

1000's of secondary applications for .99 cents or free are greater...

So far I've loaded:

MyLite - flashlight program
TouchLight - flashlight program
iRecorder - voice recorder
Jott - text notes
Google Earth
Shazam - will listen to a song and tell you who is artist and name of song...

Looking for Local News and Skype next   :D

well, I've used a lot of phones here in Europe, and since I went Symbian, it is hard to go elsewhere.  I have had my Nokia N95 for 6 months now, and I find new software for it all the time.  In fact, I am using it now to make this post!

Congratz!  I liked it while I had it.  i just gave it up for a WP7(Samsung Focus).  I do miss the Evo though.

BTW, root, unlock and install Myn's Two point two ROM. It will make the phone much better than it is out of the box.

Been using the Nokia N97 Mini since September.  My Nokia E61's buttons were starting to get unresponsive - I still use it for my work phone, but my N97 Mini has been great.

A few highlights:

1) Buying last years flagship model saves you a bundle.  Phone with car kit (windshield mount and car charger) for only 300.
2) 8 gig internal storage (not RAM) with micro SD currently supports up to an additional 16 gig.
3) Worldwide navigation with free map upgrades for the life of the phone.  Will navigate walking or driving with a myriad of map choices.
4) Touch screen, slide out keyboard, 5MP camera with dual flash and Carl Zeiss lens.  Also forward facing camera for video conferencing (Skype).
5) All the normal great Nokia applications (most of which are free - even the good ones).
6) Uses regular headphones - charges via USB - no special adapters to purchase.

Very happy!

I am on the prowl for a replacement phone.  My wife has the iphone - just not for me.  I am more comfortable with the nokia stuff.

I will say though - how do people type on all those very tiny buttons on phones like E5s and BBs ?  Of course, I need a stylus just to use my wifes iphone so maybe I just have big fingers.

At this point, it is almost forcing me back to a 12 keypad phone or the used market to get something affordable.  I like the E7, but it is out of my range.

I see in you other thread that you got a Nokia!  Still happy with Nokia after ~13 years!
