Lumapower has become one of the most innovative flashlight companies of this time. From the pictures it looks like the VX Ultra SST-50 should be near the top of the heap for size to output ratio. I guess Lumapower wasn’t joking when they named it the “Ultra”. Cool

These are my lux readings.

Lumapower D-Mini VX Ultra SST-50 (high) - 4800 lux @ 1 meter

Lumapower D-Mini VX Ultra SST-50 (medium) - 1740 lux @ 1 meter

Lumapower D-Mini VX Ultra SST-50 (low) - 340 lux @ 1 meter

Lux readings can be deceiving.

Lumapower D-Mini VX Ultra SST-50 (high) - 4800 lux @ 1 meter

Lumapower D-Mini EX MCE (high) - 6380 lux @ 1 meter

The Lumapower D-Mini EX MCE has a larger reflector than the Lumapower D-Mini VX Ultra SST-50.

The Lumapower D-Mini VX Ultra SST-50 has a much larger hot spot than the Lumapower D-Mini EX MCE but the Lumapower D-Mini EX MCE has more side spill than the Lumapower D-Mini VX Ultra SST-50.

Well said! A very good explanation of how important the beam profile of a light really is when used in the real world.

Very nice review.  Lumapower seems to be hanging with the big boys.

A flashlight junkie has needs, and both Lumapower dealers in the U.S.A. are sold out of the VX Ultra SST-50. angry7
