Finned Ballast - Dual Stage, High Power with Reastat Controll

Very nice looking ballast with heavy fins for heat controll with high heat operating temp capable

Power consuption is listed at 120 watts so this ballast should be around 35 watts to bulb on low side and 85 to 95 watts to bulb on high side. This particular model below has a reastat installed for infinite controll of output between low and high outputs...

Finned ballast with smaller version of the Maximus/Mule/Barracuda Ballast along with a 1.5 Mag, PH-50 Polarion and a 12 ah Lipo Battery

Reastat controll

Don't have in hand yet...

Top one is 6000k and bottom one is 4300K. Looks heavy duty! They're H1 bulbs...

It's difficult to see the electrodes in the top/conventional bulb but I think they are at the outer limits of the chamber.  If this is true, it appears that the arc gap in the new bulb is fully 1/2 the distance of the old bulb gap.  It'll be good for throw.

Hi Lips
Seems to be basically the same ballast as they are discussing over on CPF
http://candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=266270

Yours has the extra rheostat added for variable output.

Also very difficult to work out ballast specifics and options as there seem to be many cases of
"Is that Input Watts or Output Watts ?"

Variously described as 70W  80W and 100W with all sorts of combinations.

Quick question as you have the inside track on these . . . Do they make a real 100W-4300K H7 like your H1 or are they just overpowering the normal H7s as someone suggested !

Cheers
