3RD_Shift had been active over at Flashlightnews where he was one of our board members. The illness ran it's course in just a few months.

We will all miss him..

Sad news.

I'm sure he's a light shining even brighter in heaven now though and his pain is over.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family in this difficult time.

He was a guy that really brought flashlight modding to the common man - good teacher.

Nemul - some cancers can be treated effectively, some not so effectively.   Medicine makes amazing strides about every 10 years, but we are still a long way from consistent control of many diseases.  That is why there is so much emphasis on healthy living - not that I am a model of it.

So sad. We were the same age.

My best wishes to Stephens family at this difficult time.

His tutorials started me modding mags, he was always helpful when asked questions about the mods he had done. His work inspired me to write my own tutorial and help others make their own lights.

We're going to miss you fella.

Stephen - I think all of us will miss you in the community - your expertise and of course the plethora of posts not only showing many of us HOW but also showcasing many of your mods.  You will be missed.  I think when I look up in the sky at night and see an unusal light - I might have to think it is you shining down that supermod from the heavens.

The saddest news I've heard...

It feels like I just talked to him yesterday, and it's beed 6mo. I didn't know he was sick, and when I started getting the DFW Texas get-together organized, I learned of his passing.

Bedtime at sunrise! ;) We miss you

I'm very, very sad to read this. I never so much as exchanged a PM with him, but I read his posts here and on CPF. He seemed like a genuinely good guy. My thoughts are with his family and friends. I made my first Mag mod with his instruction and it will always be a tribute to a man who unselfishly shared his knowledge and liked to help others. Rest in Peace.
