Group Buy              Group Buy                  What?

Why group buys for HID's Lights is almost unheard of these days! Nobody wants to play ball!

Howabouts we at least start up an Interest List for this 80 watt Remote Controll HID light... I believe you are correct in that we would have to choose 110v or the DC cigarette charger plug model. Either unit would be able to run multiple ways with (AC-DC or DC AC) inverters though...

Say $450 shipped to your household...  WOW!   7000 Lumen Remote Control HID

How far is 200 meters in Feet anyway  :-[

Hmm, maybe even the 2nd person in line could get a discount...

ShortArc are you up to keeping track of interest list in your Post that's Reply  #1

I haven't seen this light in person so everyone takes a chance like me    :D

Any Interest ?

5 unit minimun   and 8  - 10 Units may even lower the price a bit...

Larger Pic updated:

Also Manufacturer will customize the motor selection for Left - Right and Up - Down for these lights. I discussed the slow operation of a test unit I had from another company and they will put a fast motor in these for us... They have a small motor division of the company they operate so that's cool!

I am having a hard time really visualizing the size of this thing.  any pictures etc of it mounted or of it next to other lights or next to someone etc for a better visual cue as to size?

I am also still trying to decide whether it would be better to get a DC unit or just get an AC unit and buy myself a good DC inverter.

What are you guys thoughts?

Size =   9 inches   Wide    X    9 inches   Deep   X   12.6 inches Tall

It's about the same size as the unit in the two videos below. A little taller maybe...

Prototype from another company (motor too slow...)

I have a good recomendation for DC I'll give later   ;)

I believe the DC  vs  AC powersource argument/decision would be based on the requirement of portability for the unit…

A DC based unit would give the benefit of:

   Battery Power
   Vehicle Power
AC to DC Converter Power (cheap)

-   Placement on House Rooftop
-   Placement in Yard for Security
-   Placement at Campsite/park  on Hill or Pier
-   Ideal for large farm or property remote locations.
-   Placement at Any Remote Location via Battery Power…

Quick disconnects such as these .50 cents (parker vehicle lighting & weather proof @ ebay) would give a BarnBurner or Rayzorlite or LuxLuthor Battery pack a quick disconnect capability for powering the unit in any remote location you could think of. A BarnBurner extra pack would still be able to be used with its intended source with little effort.

Power & Direct  the remote unit from inside your house – boat - campsite!

An AC based unit would give constant power without worrying about runtime or batteries… You would still have mobility with an DC to AC converter for vehicle or remote use…

When asking about a fast motor I also mentioned some Remote Units that had a Remote control that used Dual based speed controller. A half press = slow/fine targeting and a full press = fast/quick targeting.  I suggested this be considered for future upgrade models. I was informed that this was possible with the lights NOW! I’m not sure whether this would be an upgrade or not ($)… Hopefully this will be included with the lights as they stand…

More later!

I've asked for the following specs be built into our lights. No confirmation on this yet...

Rotating motor speed of  15 inches / 381mm per second travel on high speed.

5 inches / 127 mm per second travel on slow speed. (approximate amounts) The specs could be refined on another batch to follow…

Also, if an extra button is available on the remote that would allow for say a slow sweep of 110 degrees back and forth would be a major plus (maybe on later models if not now). Some Marine lights I have seen are capable of such...
