Surefire 6p Rebelized
« on: December 26, 2007, 04:42:38 PM »
I took a few days to play with the new Luxeon Rebels. First let me say these are *really* no fun to play with :(

I still remember the day I received my first batch of the Cree XR-E's and was complaining up and down at how much more difficult they where to work with compared to the old Luxeon III's and V's. Let's just say these new Rebels have raised the bar for difficulty for flashlight modders.

Anyway here is light number 1.

-SureFire 6p Defender Host
-17670 Powered
-3x Luxeon Rebels 0100 Bin warm white tint
-3x Mcr10 Reflectors
-Each LED see's 350ma (Regulated)
-Single Level
-750ma Current Draw at the battery end should provide 2 hours runtime.

Awsome work as always Mac

And i can imagine those small buggers beeing hard to work with.As i am still struggeling with soldering to Cree XR-E emitters.
Those lead the heat away waay to good for my slow soldering.

Mac that is really sweet, you should consider making dropin's for these, I'm sure you will sell a ton.  If you do put me down first.

Mac told me that the Rebels were much too difficult to work with and that he doesn't think he'll be offering mods with them.

My intention was to make a drop in but it would not work. I needed to slightly bore the body.

Bummer, is it correct that you are not going to work with the Rebel's at all.

I do not plan on offering any Rebel mods at this time :(
