I hope this is the right forum. I have  a LionHeart that I really enjoy. I seem to remember a mod on a LH with a Lux V and I believe a converter with the PWM, though I havn't found it yet. I just acquired one of the XX1S stars over at the other forum and I was wondering if one of the modders here would be interested in taking on this project. I was also wondering if the existing reflector would be a bad choice with the extra heat generated. I am currently using a 168S battery so I was not sure which converter would be the best match. Hope I gather some interest.

Looks like this thread hasn't been updated in a while! I'll give it a shot... uh, well, I mod pretty much anything! Mr. Bulk's fine wares, particularly upgrading vintage ones... SureFire parts of all sorts both modified, and as the basis for completely custom creations... Arc LS... HDS... Mag mods... pretty much anything! I've been fortunate enough (or perhaps foolish enough) to attempt to earn some semblance of a living at this sort of work... my family's sole source of income at present... so I'm anxious to help with all sorts of things, large and small. Design and prototyping, too... product design... field testing... research and analysis... bring it on! :)

Among other things, I specialize in designing for high efficiency and maximal real-world usability, as well as custom tailoring an item to its buyer and intended purpose.

Some threads of potential interest, both here and on CPF...

Here we go...another bump.

I've done KL1 and KL6 LED upgrades to Seoul/Cree.
HDS to Seoul
McLux to Seoul

Several Mr Bulk lights (VIP, Lioncub) modded to Seoul
Streamlight TLR-1 and TLR-2 to Seoul

I can do anything that requires soldering (like building light engines, sammies, etc)
I can also modify a lot of the electronics to change bias to the LED.

My turnaround time is typically next day.

Hey Andrew tell me more about the VIP-R  mod.  Mine is great but for some reason the little twisty switch doesn't seem to change brightness level anymore.  I am very interested in your mod!

No matter where you go, there you are.

You can probably remedy that problem with a little Pro Gold job on all the contact points.

I am happy to make custom parts for any light if it is within my capabilities.
I will NOT modify lights  - I would hate to spoil a prized possession. I prefer to make a new part, or whole light, instead.
Just PM me if you need any more info'.

Very interesting, Colin.  Thanks for the info!

I can't tell you why, but I'm not supposed to follow those links.

If these parts are for sale... please send me a PM, or post it here.

Cheers,

Hey, how about someone making a flashlight head that will directly clip on to lithium battery packs such as a Sony 7.2v lithium battery.

One of the first lights I purchased was a Streamlight Ultra-Stinger. It was so much brighter than my stock 3D mag (which I have since converted to a mag 85) that I thought I would never need another light. Huh ! The big bit me. The light I carry now in my Jeep is a modded 3D mag with one of AWR's Hot Drivers that allows me to run the very picky WE 1313. Andrew modded the Hot Driver so there is no low voltage cut-off. This means I can keep it loaded with 9 Energizer primary lithium cells (shelf life of ten years) that the Hot Driver will suck dry after about 65 minutes of burn time. During that time the light does not dim. Not quite as bright as the mag 85 but almost 3 times the burn time and it's reliable as all Hell.

Since the bug bit, that Streamligh has seen very little use. I'm thinking of selling it because I have a light now that does not need charging and is a lot brighter. Before I sell it I was wondering what type of mods are available for this old friend. Brighter would be better and I would not mind using rechargable cells as long as I get at least 15 - 20 minutes of run time. Can you breath some new life into this light or is time to just say goodby ? Thanks.

I do incandescent Mods on Mags and Streamlights.

Everything is done on a custom order basis, but all of the standard Mag Mods are readily doable, depending on available supplies.
