Ok let me answer some question....

Whether with option 2, old circuit could be used in a mod - maybe....  however ideally you'd want us to do option 1 on that one first.

Regarding sending the entire light... there is one step that might be a bit tricky if you just get the driver it is pressing in the rubber ring around the driver... we'd have to find a tool or some way to do it. I understand that shipping over the pond won't make much sense. We'll find a solution it's not rocket science...

Well Option 2 could happen as soon as we do our next run. Option 1 could happen sooner. However Option 2 gives you V3 performance and everything (except for the button). Anyway we'll try to make it happen. We tested it so far with one light and it works great. We do some more testing... than likely make it happen with the next circuit board run....

I personally find it exciting... V2 would give you V3 performance submersible with exposed battery (which the V3 does not have)...    and V3 performance with non exposed battery with the V3...

I know this was a subject of some heated debate...

It's a love it or hate it proposition...

But...

I like the exposed battery!

It remains one of the defining features of the GatLight in my mind.

V3 performance in a V2 body is the best of both worlds.

Thanks for making this happen, Walter!

Cheers,

I do, too.  Regardless, I've resisted as far as I can.  I MUST have a V3.  Order is forthcoming, Walter.  :D

hey questions, yes we still have some V3's available... if you order now you should get it within a week.... likely it should ship even sooner than that.

Than I just tried to V3 driver upgrade on the V2 and wow its amazing - I am blown away what a difference it makes. The V3 user knob is smooth to rotate, however the V2 has a much smaller knob diameter and ORing and as such less friction. With the upgrade the V2 is very smooth to rotate. Having the brightness decrease as the knob is rotated clockwise works perfect. Than to turn it off one just rotates the light towards brightness to max...  and past max and it turns off. And everything still works, exposed battery while being submersible... I am thrilled.

There is one thing that has been bugging me about our lights is that we never put a serial number onto the V2. I want to look into whether we can put a serial number onto the V2 upgrade drivers... to fix that issue. Also we're currently looking at how we can make this upgrade more affordable... because it really makes the light perfect.

Walter, after engraving "No. 1" on Regentag's V2, is there still enough room to add (just after that): "Nerd"?  :evil6:

well the serial number would likely just go onto the upgrade driver so those guy across the pond don't have to ship it across.  But I don't know if that is feasible. We'll see.... Give us a month and we'll have more info.
