Welcome to Materials/Theories/Fabrication

Welcome to MackDaddy's playground, fellow Flashaholics!  No rules other than to have a good time and treat others the way you'd like them to treat you.

This forum is a place to discuss the materials and methods used to make our toys; tools, finishes, theories, ideas, wild hairs, you get the picture.  For most of us, we may never get the chance to actually make a light, so we are very interested in hearing (and seeing pics) from those who actually can and do!!

Enjoy the ride.  ;)

Eric,

I think the ride will be a bit smoother and more on track if you open a Machining Wanted thread, too. Then everyone can post their needs there and those with lathes can troll through them looking for ways to get rich quick.   :icon_jokercolor:

And it might keep the other threads about machining tools and threads on topic.

Wadda ya think?

Thanks for opening up this new section. Hopefully it will encourage the membership to get more involved with making and modding lights.

The LH/LC lights are one of the best platforms to use as a jumping off point into modding.

I am certain that we will see Cree XR-E inside these lights very soon. All the electronics will work and the challenge seems to be around reflector selection.
