Welcome to the Ellie club Donald!

The Elephant HID is a Fivemega "Fatboy" Mag with a 3.5" head that hosts a WA 10W HID ballast which is *over* driven by 3 x 18650's.  The 3 x 18650's overdrive the ballast to about 14 watts, *I think*.  In short it makes all your other "throwing" lights look like Little Leaguers.  Mac has hit yet another homerun with this light!

Mine looks a bit different:

Ellie is on the left, Torchie on the right, Junior in the middle, all Mac creations.

Mine has the FM3H head..... I believe yours is the FM3V.....
Gives a really different look to it.

It's great to be part of the Ellie club!  These lights are awesome!!!  Definately one of Mac's best creations!

These lights are hard to come by.  I'm not sure if Mac is making these on an on-going basis.

Definately worth its weight in gold!

LOL!  Man... last night, I was playing with my Ellie and really got the neighbors curious.  I had the head screwed down all the way so the hotspot wasn't too hot.  The neighbors were going ooogly-eyed.  But after about 15 mins, I figured out that this light can actually focus the beam!!!!  (DUH!!! To give me credit, I'm not used to focussable lights....comon!!!).  Anyways, so I go ahead and focus the beam to the sweetspot and that's when the neighbors got floored!  That's when I was having the greatest time of my young flashaholic career.......DAMN!!!  This thing can THROW!  Keep in mind that this was my first HID experience....but DAMN!!!  DAMN!

The neighbors were going "DAMN!".   Even my neighbor's 8-year old son (who's a budding flashaholic, by the way thanks to yours truely) uttered the word "DAMN!".  Holy crap, I'm sold on this thing.  I want to get another from Mac.

Then one of the neighbors asked me how much it costed.  Knowing what the inevitable response to the truth would be, I told them it was from Walmart (sporting goods section) for $19.99, but the model's discontinued and sold out.....sorry dude.....   :P

Anyways, that's my story last night......what a blast!!
Halloween is gonna be awesome!

Hmmm... All this talk about Elephants....  :D

Mine isn't an elephant, but a Classic Ufokillerz/SilverLegacy MiniHID with a Fivemega FM3H head AND a Burnt Retinas REGULATED battery holder... The regulated circuit puts out 11.38V to the WA ballast and gives a nice even output for about 30+ minutes with 2x 17670 cells.  Measured output is 52,100lux at 1m..  :)  Also much more compact then the "Elephant HID"..  :D
