I like anchovies to cook with. Mashed and lightly fried with onions, garlic and red peppers, it makes a savory base for a red sauce.

PS. I will admit that I was so hungry once while shopping that I bought and ate half a tin of anchovies. God that was terrible.
PS. Zen, they are the fishiest, saltiest things that most people will ever put in their mouths.
