There is a "stainless" Damascus which does, in fact, resist staining (rusting?) but not entirely.  What most folks are unaware of is the fact that steel is not stain PROOF, rather stain Resistant...Get it, stain LESS? The very best stainLESS steel will rust if dunked in salt water.  Read the instructions on diving watches made of stainless steel.  They all ask for a fresh water rinsing after use in the ocean.  My point is that steel will rust unless cared for in an intelligent fashion.  That said, while this sure would look nice in my hot hands, I don't know how I might be able to afford one...but then again, who knows?  Hey Charlie, what are the "damages" going to be?   Huh?

Wow - this has to be one of the coolest looking lights I've ever seen. I wish I could afford one. The lottery is starting up in NC this coming week, so if I win, I'm definitely in! Otherwise, I'll just have to look on in envy!

First Count me in  Second William Henry uses a core of zdp189 with Damascus folds overlayed this, Kershaw uses something similar in the multi-task chefs knife (with VG10). This system supposedly reduces the corrosion associated with true Damascus steels. In This case it appears your billets will actually be alloyed. will they use the zdp189?

I have been somewhat busy lately and havent been active here at the boards.  And then this  8)  My concern too is that Damascus steel is prone to corrosion?  Is there some treatment here to prevent this from happening?  I surely would hate it to EDC such a beautiful work of art and only to end up oiling it every night, just like a knife or a gun.  Guess its one reason why I love Glocks  :P Any price indicative for this one Charlie?  Pls do PM me  ;)

You EDC such things?

NORMAL people put them on pedestals and kneel before them every night :rotflmao:  (thereby solving the need to oil them)

Just thought I would ask. Is this using a 3W luxeon or will you try something new like a K2. As it is a very limited edition I figure the sky is the limit
