Welcome to the LED Mods forum
« on: July 29, 2005, 09:51:48 AM »
Hi Everyone,

Since I'll be helping to moderate this forum I thought I should introduce myself.  My name is Darryl, and I'm a Flash-a-holic...
I never really posted much on CPF, although I've been a member for forever, so most of you don't know me.  As you can see in my profile I'm a HAT member, and I'm one of the guys that helps Charlie get all of his cool lights out to you guys.  Very cool gig BTW :)  I mean what could be cooler than helping to build all of these cutting edge lights?

As a modder, I never came up with anything all that original, so I never thought any of them were post worthy.  I hope I can change that soon.  I'd like to be a contributor to this forum, not just one of the moderators.  But I'm no expert, so I plan on learning a lot from all of you guys.

And the whole moderating thing is new to me, so I'm sure I'll make my share of mistakes.  Please be patient with me and I'll do my best to keep this a fun place!

Darryl aka Sonic

Sonic, yes, you do have a cool job being part of the HAT team!  I'm one of the relatively new guys on the flashlight threads (just a couple of years), so I'm sure I'll learn from one of the old pros like you.  Thanks for taking time to come here and keep all of us wild new(er) light lovers under control.  :D

AWTYD,

Thanks for the words of encouragement.  But I just dabble with light modding, I would never consider myself a pro.  I am getting "old" though...

Hey, no modesty necessary here Darryl (meaning just be yourself, haw!).  Folks, Darryl's member no. was something like in the low 1500's "back in the day" when CPF was like a neighborhood tavern or clubhouse, where everybody knew everybody else - and I just can't help but get the feeling here too.  Welcome back to the good ol' days -- yet different, because we have Sonic as a M-M-Moderator??? :laughing5:

Don't be so modest Darryl...  Some of the conversationswe've had have been about some VERY cool ideas you had for lights.  I always thought you excelled at ideas that were non-tubular in design.  You gotta post up some pix of your prjects!  I always though your ideas were inovative.

Yeah Slick, I'm just waiting for him to finish his latest "boxy" design, we should see it this weekend at the HAT Build, he has to borrow the drill press so he's bringin' it over to do the drillin'...
