Lights Buy/Sell/Trade / Re: WTS: Surefire Winelight E1W
« on: October 26, 2006, 01:44:50 PM »
The clip isn't installed on the head, rather it is one of the removable ones that attaches to the body of the light. Hence, per your description, it should be the E1E-W, but Surefire labeled it as an E1W. Sigh. I'll change the thread title to reflect both names.

I'm really half tempted to keep this little light and pick up a black KL1 for it.

OMG... I want one, but must be strong...

I grew up in Hawai'i and would LOVE a koa 3AAA. Sniff. My mom still has her koa salad bowl and utensils along with other koa goods. What a stunning wood and what a great idea!

Hmm. The box states:

E1W-BY Flashlight

E1 Winelilght II F/L Burgundy, P/B Switch, Super Xenon lamp, Belt clip, SF123A batteries.

May I ask what the difference is??? I'd actually love to know!

Thanks. With the detonator it is now comfortable to hold in several different grips, and easy to use when wearing gloves. IMHO it isn't quite as beautiful as it is functionally great looking. I took the rubber grip off as I may get it HA camo anozided, and the grip was worthless anyway with the detonator.

Thanks for the kind words!

(Please turn off the caps lock)

If the batteries all test out, then I'd call Blackhawk. I had a problem with my (early) tailcap and they sent me a new one without any issues. They are wonderful to work with.

Nope the hex is part of the head.
??? Du-uh. I should have seen that. I also like the looks of it!

My fave is a light I had modded by MilkySpit. He took a gen 1 KL3 and filled it with a WY0S Lux V and a trimmed Electrolumens optic. I run it on a Sf M2 + detonator + "fatty" SW01. This has just about the ideal beam pattern for my night hikes and night geocaches. I love this crazy thing. One of my hiking buddies thinks it looks like a Klingon weapon!

General Flashlight Discussion / Re: thinking of a gladius

I had a Gladius (black HA) and loved it. It is a great light, high quality. The plastic tailcap didn't bother me at all. I also didn't have any problems changing cells- I once had to swap out the cells while running down a trail at night... I recommend you purchase an FM34 beamshaper, as it provides the ability to tune the beam from a great thrower to providing a wall of diffuse, white light.

Interesting... can you post a pic of the M2 body sans the bezel? I assume the hex-shaped addition is part of the body now. Will this now cause issues if one wanted to swap out the bezel for a KL5, for example?

OK, I really want to see that grappling hook LOL. I wonder what my wife would say to that purchase?

For Sale or Trade: An E1W. Rare, stunning lights.

Unfortunately I cannot interest my wife in either light so they are up for sale. The E2W is around 99% (however, I cannot find a flaw). The E1W is 95% (tailcap has some incredibly small areas on the knurling and one small area at the edge are missing anodizing- looks like it came this way shipped), and is hardly noticeable. I want to be detailed with their condition. The E1W's anodization is slightly darker on the head and tailcap. Not unusual, but again I want you to know everything about these lights. Both come with pristine boxes (dated 2001) and paperwork, again in pristine condition. I tested both for about 30 seconds. Battery Station 123s are included. Both have the short clips. This is a chance to obtain a set of these rare, limited production lights in a matched set. $190 for the pair (USPS Priority Shipping to US included). Insurance is extra. Or split them for: E1W: $85 shipped to US; $105 TRADED- No Longer Available for the E2W shipped to the US. I will also consider trades for the Winelights!

Hello everyone! I've been on CPF for about a year now and have been lurking, and a member here for a few months. I've been having a lot of fun collecting inicans, LEDs, and an HID. I get the obsessive side honestly, as one relative has hundreds of classic and historic firearms and my dad does have OCD (ok, I'm not that bad...).
