Mr. Bulk / What's New
« on: June 08, 2011, 10:10:33 PM »
I've been absent from the flashlight scene for awhile, nice to see allot of the same members here.
The last couple of years spent touring the other toy forums, knifes, camp gear ect... but bright objects attract :)
So what is new? My last lights were Mr B's CHAMELEON, couple of Fire Fly III's, oh and a TNC x-bin.
Is there new teck? what is the brightest led now? ........I know...and I will enjoy catching up within this forum

Talk Story / The Personal Fan MOD What do you think?
« on: June 04, 2007, 06:26:31 PM »
With all this talent on this forum, I would love to see some of this same technology applied toward a "Personal Fan". You know the hand held kind that you walk around a park with, most of them are lame a few are ok the best I've found is one by Brookstone that uses 4aa's & has a variable speed.

I'd like to see someone mate an efficient high speed electrical motor to to some type of board for long run times with options, and a fan blade to move some serious air.  This could be made in various configurations
desktop-for camping, hand held, or on a string to hang around the neck, a clip for your shirt or cap.

While I'm dreaming lets make it out of Titanium!  Is it just me??  I'd put up some coin for one that truly
worked well......I live in south Florida and summer is kicking in and my AC just broke :)

On the same site for more $ you can charge most anything including our Lithium Ion's.

General Flashlight Discussion / Shopping for an Updated EDC
« on: March 24, 2007, 08:19:22 PM »
A friend of mine that drools over some of my lights
would like me to purchase one for him next time I
make an order- he refuses to purchase online? I
have in the past sold him some of my 2nds....so
he's one of us :)
A few months ago, I think, ernsanada did a review of "LumaCraft Formula One F1"
this had the  Seoul P4 in it and seemed pretty bright....are there others using this led?
The only other I'm aware of that compares would be the "Fenix Digital P1D CE", ernsanada
may have done a review of this as well....any thoughts on which would make a better EDC?
I do like the ability to use rechargeable Li-ion.
Thanks ahead guys

Talk Story / What's your favorite Beef Jerky brand and flavor?
« on: December 22, 2006, 09:39:45 PM »
Jerky is one of those things I love to snack on and can make a mean batch on my Green Egg smoker
but it is such a pain!
A few months back I had purchased a store bought brand that was phenomenal... I thought I'd cut the label to recall the brand....not!   I did a net search- millions of them and allot of them look good.
Figured I'd ask my pals here on the FF  What they liked :D

Other Gear / FirePiston- Neat survival tool
« on: June 25, 2006, 08:13:35 PM »
I came across this neat neat survival thing on another forum and because the scouts are currently doing  the primitive fire starting thing
I ordered a cheaper model from e-bay, I was surprised at how well these work, very interesting.
Here are a few links showing the history and a few modern makers.

General Flashlight Discussion / Chameleon Shelf Queen
« on: May 04, 2006, 12:15:44 AM »
Like all of us I have a few lights, work horses and Shelf Queens.
The lantern head that TnC built has taken my Chameleon off the shelf, I do allot
of camping with my kids/scouts and this is a hikers dream lantern.
BUT.....I'm ashamed to admit it but I don't remember the functions, how to set the different levels. I must have deleted the directions by accident. Please
help me bring this shelf Queen back to life. The old Chameleon thread is too large to wade through.

Thanks   :D

Everyone has opinons and by now most know what they like in a light
so lets tell the big guy....hehe....he can take it!  These things take a
long time to complete but the process starts by defining what it will be.  :blinking:

Other Gear / Knife Collections Fixed Blades
« on: March 21, 2006, 10:52:07 PM »
I just got back from a weekend with my boys and a few dozen Boy
Scouts, my lights got a workout, & it kindled a need for a new blade
(my other obsession).
This is my first custom fixed blade, aside from some Japanese cooking knifes.
The handle is made from Black locust, I've seen this wood before, goldish with greens
and brown grain lines.....lets see it's Tuesday maybe I'll get it by Friday it's coming from N.C.
I've allot to learn in the subject of fixed blades, hope to read and see some of yours!

Anyway got a Mr Bulk original a space needle with the 6AA baton!  Blinding and cool looking!
In the mail today arrived the  TnC  Lithium-Lux V--XYOS-- waiting by the window with dog
looking for dark!  :D
