General Flashlight Discussion / Light Sabers!
« on: March 25, 2006, 10:31:26 AM »
A friend sent me some links of some pretty cool stuff people are doing with light sabers.  Including one made with a 90mw green laser!  I thought about making a similar mod with a Space Needle and an acrylic rod a couple of years ago, but I never got around to it.

Check it out here:  http://www.instructables.com/ex/i/AAF8760208351029BC4A001143E7E506/?ALLSTEPS

And here:  http://forum.wickedlasers.com/viewtopic.php?t=581

And make sure to check out the vids, especially on the second link.  Pretty cool stuff...

Flashlight Components / What's the best AAA nimh rechargeable?
« on: March 08, 2006, 08:37:25 AM »
I just got a Fenix L0P and I want to start running it on nimhs.  I haven't looked at nimhs in a long time and I have no idea what's out there now.  So I call on all of you battery gurus for some advice.  My priority is runtime, BTW.  Thanks in advance for any help you guys/gals can offer.

LED Mods / MOVED: $10 LED/laser review
« on: September 02, 2005, 05:11:17 AM »
Nice Review Lightstream!  Sounds like a great value at $10.00.

But since this isn't about a "modded" light, I'll be moving it to the "General Discussion" board here:

Thank you for your support!

General Flashlight Discussion / Anyone see this headlight?
« on: July 31, 2005, 10:20:33 AM »
Just found this headlight on TADgear.  It has a lot of cool features I haven't seen on a headlight before.  I especially like that it has a remote control, that's a convenient feature on a headlight.  I wish it ran on 123's instead of AA's though.  It just seems like 123 powered headlights are brighter, run longer and are usually lighter IMO.  What do you guys think of it?

I'm looking for a white 3watt side emitter with a good bin number.  I'll trade a white 5watt side emitter bin number U3U.  I got these from Charlie a while back, so the bin on these are from a reliable source.  I also have a bunch of 1.25watt SE whites too that I'd be willing to trade.  I have a lot of other loose emitters of various colors/types that I may be willing to give up also.  I'm thinking straight trade, you ship to me I ship to you.  I'll consider any reasonable trade offer.  Any takers?  Thanks for looking.

LED Mods / Welcome to the LED Mods forum
« on: July 29, 2005, 09:51:48 AM »
Hi Everyone,

Since I'll be helping to moderate this forum I thought I should introduce myself.  My name is Darryl, and I'm a Flash-a-holic...
I never really posted much on CPF, although I've been a member for forever, so most of you don't know me.  As you can see in my profile I'm a HAT member, and I'm one of the guys that helps Charlie get all of his cool lights out to you guys.  Very cool gig BTW :)  I mean what could be cooler than helping to build all of these cutting edge lights?

As a modder, I never came up with anything all that original, so I never thought any of them were post worthy.  I hope I can change that soon.  I'd like to be a contributor to this forum, not just one of the moderators.  But I'm no expert, so I plan on learning a lot from all of you guys.

And the whole moderating thing is new to me, so I'm sure I'll make my share of mistakes.  Please be patient with me and I'll do my best to keep this a fun place!

Darryl aka Sonic
