Yup, I'm in Pennsylvania.

I might keep my Ti Chameleon on a shelf... but the shelf is padded and weighs 1,565 pounds ;) [and good for 2.5 hours at 1200 degrees F.]

Do you provide working permission, acceptable living space, emotional and financial support, S-series Mercedes (or BMW M5), clothing allowance, shoe allowance, hair & makeup allowance, holidays in hotels (no camping)?

You know - your Ti Chammie might be cheaper and give a lot more for the $....

Title: Ti Chameleon Club: The hardest part...
Post by: reptiles on July 22, 2007, 02:31:09 AM
Hi all,

As the newest member of the club, I want to share one of my impressions, that I suspect is familiar with all of you already.

I occasionally rotate my Ti Chameleon into EDC. When at work (hospital) most people never look twice at it... but every so often, someone that appreciates unique tools, titanium, or bright lights will go nuts over it.

And they are always asking me, "where can I get one?" and never believe me when I tell them the story of these unusual tools.

How do you all handle this situation?

Cheers,

Mark

Tell them what it would cost for you to find them one, and that will pretty much end that line of questioning...  ;)

Now THAT would be impressive.

You'd have to trot it down to Bijan, if they still exist.

Remember the hoopla over Bijan's 14k revolver (well, the cylinder anyway) back in the day...

Well, the Hong Kong Ti Cham has made its way to New York, and it's resting up next to the Dam Cham.
Still trying to master the UI, though still completely incompetent.

RE-written?  Harumphh!!!  I demand to know the meaning of this outrage!!! :protest:

Actually if it's the first one, the one originally posted on the internet,  then there has already been an improved, question-answer format version created, a hard copy of which was enclosed with every Chameleon I shipped...

When I purchased the LionHeart way back when, and figured out how to program it from the instructions provided (which were later improved but not enough), I felt that I'd want clearer instructions to refer to way down the road when re-programing the light. So as an exercise for my own future benefit and that of a friend to whom I gifted an LH, I rewrote the instructions, filed them away, and forgot all about them. Later I did the same for the Cham.  I have them in PDF format and will gladly post them if someone tells me how to post a PDF file. I'm also happy to attach the files to an email for anyone who PMs me with the request.

My favorite Bulk Ti light remains the Chameleon.  No other light feels as good in the hand as the Ti Chameleon.  No other light looks as good as the Ti Chameleon.  No other light, when displayed among other custom Ti lights, draws as much attention from non-Flashaholics as the Ti Chameleon.  I am so happy to own this light.   :P  Let's keep this thread at the top!  8)

Went to a Federal building yesterday in Philadelphia. Had to place my ti Chameleon in the basket while I went through the metal detector.

The agents were absolutely fascinated with the light. Asked me dozens of questions about it.

I felt like I time-traveled from the future with a rare artifact that primitive humans shouldn't have seen.

Cheers,

Mark

Barry, I will add you to the list.  ;)

Edit: you're added.  I'm not sure of the evolution of yours, other than it came from me.  My second one came from schwim by way of dimebag, but that's all I know.  It'd be interesting to track their histories, though I believe many wish to remain anonymous.

It would be interesting to see this Ti Chameleon list updated.  Where are they now!!!  I'll start the list below and see where it goes.  Current owners please post and I'll add you to the list

Anyone know if there is a list of the original owners of Ti Chameleons with their numbers?  It's probably here somewhere but I can't locate it.  Who originally got what number?
